About Me: I am a clinical therapist serving the GTA in Ontario, Canada. I have worked in the social services field since 1999, in a variety of settings. For several years, I have assisted children, teens and adults experiencing a wide range of issues such as: addiction, depression, anxiety, stress, abuse, anger and trauma. I have provided crisis counselling for sexual assault survivors and therapy for abused women and children. I continue to teach and supervise social work and social service work students and I have conducted research on racism in the criminal justice system. I am committed to ongoing professional development and training and to providing a safe, supportive and honest environment for my clients.
Areas of Expertise: I specialize in addiction, trauma/critical incident, sexual assault, domestic violence, anger management and relationship problems (communication, self-esteem, intimacy, sexual issues, etc).
Services: I offer counselling, psychotherapy and assessment to male and female adults and teens. Service is available to individuals, couples and families and may be single-session or ongoing depending on needs and expectations. Sessions are either face-to-face or online.
Online counselling or e-therapy involves electronic mailing between the client (you) and the clinician (me). You can choose between a brief email consultation with a minimum 2-page single spaced response, an online counselling session with a 75-minute "e-therapy chat," a combination of online counselling and face-to-face appointments or face-to-face appointments only.
E-mail consultations require that you describe the situation in which you would like to discuss and forward it to me. For those who are apprehensive in beginning the counselling process, e-mail consultations allow you to begin experiencing the process of counselling and the healing process.
Please note that e-therapy sessions and email consultations are NOT crisis/support services that you can utilize in an emergency situation. It is only appropriate for individuals who are able to think clearly about their situation and who are prepared to work through issues. If you are in a crisis, please contact a crisis/support line listed in your local phone directory or go to your nearest emergency room.
